About

Dr. Lauren Cunningham, DVM DACVIM

My Background

As may veterinarians can attest, veterinary medicine was a passion from a very early age.  After earning her DVM and completing a 3 year residency in internal medicine at Oklahoma State University, Dr Cunningham spent nearly 10 years in 24hr specialty clinics, providing imaging services throughout that time. Dr. Cunningham recognized a need within the veterinary community for more rapid access to specialty level diagnostics as well as integration of those diagnostics into a comprehensive plan for the patient. This realization led to the founding of Greater Gains Advanced Veterinary Diagnostics, a mobile imaging service designed to bridge the gap between diagnosis and treatment in veterinary care. In her spare time (there is none) she enjoys gardening and redesigning the same room in her house 6 times per year.

Huey

IT Guy/Agent of Chaos

Huey joined the practice in November 2023. He is very excited to be able to contribute to this growing practice by walking on the computer keyboard, knocking over coffee onto Dr. Cunninghams notes and chewing on her dictation headset (all while engaging in weirdly uncomfortable direct eye contact). He is currently a purple belt in karate and is hoping to break into the parkour scene soon.

Our Approach & Philosophy

Veterinarians are a weirdly big/small community of people. Everyone generally has an idea of the relationship between primary care practice and specialty medicine, but that relationship can look vastly different practice to practice. The Twin Cities veterinarians serve a very large and varied clientele and are often thin on time, staff and sanity. My goal is to fit into the needs of each individual practice as best I can, facilitating rapid access to imaging (if that is the only goal) or more globally, assisting in the education and management of the client and patient. Whatever your clinic’s individual needs, the goal is to get you, your staff and yes, me, home to spend time with what is most important…family (and that includes the 4 legged ones that means so much to us).
